Recurrent Pregnancy Loss


For those who have experienced multiple miscarriages, the Reproductive Medicine Center offers a specialized program of care.

Medical Evaluation for Couples may Include:

  • Anatomical (hysterosalpingogram and/or sonohysterogram)
  • Hormonal (TSH, prolactin, progesterone)
  • Immunological (acticardiolipin antibodies, lupus anticoagulant)
  • Genetic testing (karyotyping parents and fetus if possible, X chromosome inactivation studies)

Therapy and Treatment Options:

  • Correction of anatomical abnormalities
  • Correction of hormonal abnormalities
  • Medical treatment with low molecular weight heparin
  • Genetic counseling
  • In vitro fertilization and use of a gestational carrier
