The following is an important announcement for patients:

UPDATED: April 21, 2015

We are writing to inform you of a transition in our women’s health services. Reproductive Medicine Center (RMC) will close its practice on June 30, 2015. We reached this decision upon learning three of our physicians will move into private practice later this summer. We believe the closing is the right decision for our patients and our staff. We will do everything possible to support your transition to a new clinic, and we will soon be announcing a collaborative agreement with a world-class fertility clinic entering the Twin Cities market.

About Your Care

RMC will continue to provide fertility services through May 8, 2015. Care will not be affected for patients planning in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles before May 8. We will work with patients who may be planning IVF cycles after May 8 or those patients with multi-cycle packages. If you are one of these patients, we will work with you to determine how best to schedule and complete your cycles.

If you are a patient who has frozen embryos, oocytes, sperm or testicular tissue stored at RMC, we will contact you by a separate letter so we may begin the process of transferring your specimens to a facility of your choosing. Fairfax Cryobank in Roseville, Minn., will assume responsibility for storage of frozen specimens. Patients can also call Fairfax Cryobank at 651-489-0420 for more information.

 About Your Medical Records

Medical records for Reproductive Medicine Center patients are maintained by University of Minnesota Physicians and will continue to be available after the clinic has closed. You do not need to request records before the clinic closes.

When you have selected a new clinic for your care and have an appointment scheduled, please fill out the release of information form and mail it to University of Minnesota Physicians at the address listed on the form. Our staff will process the request and send it to your new clinic. Most requests are handled within a week.

About RMC’s Physicians

We are grateful to Drs. Mark Damario, William Phipps and Phoebe Leonard for their years of patient care, medical education and research. We are pleased they will continue to practice in the Twin Cities area.

Dr. Mark Damario will join the Center for Reproductive Medicine in St. Paul in July. Dr. Phoebe Leonard will join the Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates in Woodbury. An official announcement regarding Dr. William Phipps is expected soon, and we will share his new practice information with you as it becomes available.

We understand you may have questions about your care currently provided by RMC. A special phone number has been established to provide individual answers regarding new clinic options, medical records transfer and financial questions.

Please call 612-372-7061. You may also email questions to rmc@umphysicians.umn.edu.
