The Eye Clinic at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview looks forward to providing you with comprehensive eye care. We diagnose and treat patients with all types of ocular disorders. Clinic subspecialties include cornea and anterior segment, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, retina, glaucoma and low-vision services.

  • Albinism
    Experts in genetics and ophthalmology come together to study and treat the eye problems that arise in people with albinism
  • Thyroid eye disease
    Evaluation, diagnosis, medical, and surgical treatment for thyroid eye disease
  • Contact lens services
    Eye exams and fitting for soft, gas permeable, bifocal, keratoconus, postsurgical and aphakic lenses; treatment for lens complications
  • Cornea and external disease treatment
    Treatment for cataracts, dry eyes, ocular inflammations and tumors; surgical procedures including corneal transplants, stem cell transplants and refractive procedures
  • Glaucoma services
    Our glaucoma specialists treat the disease with medication and surgery
  • Lasik and refractive surgery
    Three different types of corrective eye surgery are offered; physicians work with patients to find the best solution to correct their vision
  • Low-vision services
    Services for people with low vision that cannot be corrected with ordinary glasses, treatment or surgeries.
  • Macular or retinal disease treatment
    Treatment and research for diseases of the eye’s retina and macula, including macular degeneration
  • Neuro-ophthalmology
    Diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders that cause vision loss, visual field loss, double vision, eyelid drooping and unequal pupil size, as well as systemic diseases causing issues in the brain, peripheral nerves and eye
  • Oculoplastic and orbital surgery
    Evaluation and treatment of disorders involving the eyelids (including cosmetic eyelid surgery), orbit (bones and tissues around the eyes) and tear duct system
  • Pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus treatment
    Evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders in children and strabismus in adults
  • Retinoblastoma 
    A multidisciplinary team, including ophthalmologists and oncologists, develop a comprehensive treatment plan for this rare childhood cancer
