Expansion and Innovation

UMPhysicians Opens Two New Medical Facilities

You don’t need to be a Division I athlete to receive the same level of health when you visit UMPhysicians’ new Sports Medicine Clinic in Stadium Village.

Formerly the Fairview Sports and Orthopaedic Care, the clinic is now managed by University of Minnesota Physicians. The clinic’s seven-person physician team offers comprehensive, coordinated care for concussions, stress fractures and soft tissue injuries, among other issues. Staffed by a mix of family and sports medicine physicians and orthopaedic surgeons, the clinic takes a holistic approach to sports medicine so that you can keep performing at peak proficiency. That ideology complements UMPhysicians’ extensive services at the University of Minnesota Medical Center’s West Bank Orthopaedic Clinic, where we provide focused treatments and surgical care for all types of orthopaedic conditions.

Located at 2525 University Ave SE in Minneapolis, the Sports Medicine Clinic is open from 8 a.m .to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Call 612.884.0406 to make an appointment.

For patient convenience, we also added the University of Minnesota Physicians Imaging Center — West Bank, which focuses on musculoskeletal imagery. The centerpiece of the new facility is a Skyra 3T MRI, a top-of-the-line body scanner that offers excellent image quality and a high level of detail. The center opened on June 24, and is located just across the street from the Orthopaedic Clinic.

The imaging center is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 701 25th Ave. S., Suite B-3 in the Riverside Park Plaza building. Call 612-273-7760 to make an appointment.
