Getting to the University Campus
World-renowned care is worth a little extra time and planning
Some construction projects (including that of the Central Corridor Light Rail) have affected travel to and around the University. Please use our recommended routes, and incorporate some extra time into your travel plan. We encourage you to check this section before coming to the University campus as we will be updating it regularly.
I94 exit at Riverside Avenue will be closed Oct. 27 – 28
The west bound I94 exit at Riverside Avenue will be closed Saturday, Oct. 27 through Sunday, Oct. 28, because of work on the intersection of Butler Place and Riverside Avenue. Motorists will be directed to use the Cedar Avenue exit to access Riverside Avenue.
We expect the construction and detour to cause traffic delays in the area. Please allow extra time and watch for detour signs when travelling to the West Bank.
East Bank
The best way to access our East Bank specialty clinics and University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview is via I-94 and the Huron exit. (
