Patient Information

What to Expect

Patients refer themselves to the Center or are referred by their primary care provider. The first visit usually lasts 60 to 75 minutes and you can expect:

  • Medical evaluation and history
  • Physical examination, diagnostic evaluation and consultation
  • Honest, detailed discussion about possible side effects and treatment outcomes
  • Laboratory or X-ray testing (if necessary)
  • Follow-up visit will be scheduled to discuss options (if necessary)

Before the first appointment, you will receive a letter confirming the day and time of the appointment, instructions on what to bring, directions to the clinic, and parking information. A day before the appointment, we will also call you to confirm the details. We ask that all of your records be sent or faxed prior to your visit. Please contact your physician to confirm that we will receive:

  • All original laboratory results
  • X-rays/CT scans with reports and actual films
  • Pathology reports and slides
  • Any medical records that pertain to your medical history, as well as those regarding your cancer
