If I receive care, will I get a University of Minnesota Health bill?
Many of the specialty clinics at University of Minnesota Medical Center are owned by Fairview, but staffed and managed by UMPhysicians. Most insurance carriers classify clinic services that are provided in a hospital-owned facility as "outpatient hospital visits." In most cases, you will get separate bills:
- One for facilities, nursing and equipment from Fairview
- One for the professional services provided by your doctor and medical team from UMPhysicians
- In certain cases, anesthesia services will be billed separately
