Center for Prostate Cancer Opens New Space

Sep 01, 2005
A first of its kind, the Center for Prostate Cancer provides a full range of diagnostic and treatment services, as well as research and training, at one location.

Our emphasis on clinical care, research and education allows us to stand at the forefront of compassionate, innovative care, with a shared vision to make a real difference in the lives of patients with prostate cancer.

World-renowned team of experts
The Center is directed by a nationally recognized expert in prostate cancer treatment, Kenneth Koeneman, M.D., and features an interdisciplinary team of experts that come together to focus on the patient's personal treatment plan.

A healing environment
Patients are seen in the newly renovated clinic on the fourth floor of the Mayo Building on the campus of University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview.

The space brings together specialists - oncology, urologic oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and medicine - and procedure rooms in one center so patients no longer have to visit specialists in multiple locations.

Other patient amenities include a resource library with web access staffed by a program coordinator who researches prostate cancer information tailored to each patient's needs. There's also a registered dietician available for personalized nutrition plans.
