Bio Statement
Dr. Smith is a rural clinical dermatologist and dermatological surgeon in Willmar, MN. As a general dermatologist, she sees patients of all ages with skin conditions ranging from the benign to the severe, but has special interests in skin cancer surgery and reconstruction, the skin problems of transplant patients and life-threatening dermatologic disease.
Over her twenty-plus years in practice Dr. Smith has volunteered countless hours to making the lives of her patients better. She is a dedicated teacher of medical students, residents and primary care physicians and has been selected by the University of Minnesota Dermatology Residents as a Part-time Teacher of the Year. She has written and testified on legislation to ensure the safety of patients undergoing laser procedures and to prevent minors from using tanning booths.
In 2012, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Association awarded her its Patient Safety Hero Award. She a Minnesota Dermatological Society former president, current officer and is President-elect of the Minnesota Medical Association.
