  • Dr. Gruenstein has performed many firsts, including the first ASD device closure in the state of Rhode Island (2002), the first hybrid repair of hypoplastic left heart syndrome in the upper Midwest (2007), and the first implantation of certain experimental cardiac devices in the United States. His work in developing hybrid surgical-catheter techniques has lead to invitations to speak at national and international meetings.
