Bio Statement

Cheryl A. Gale, M.D. is Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology. She earned her M.D. from the University of Minnesota, and served her internship and residency at Washington University-St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis before returning to the University of Minnesota to complete her Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship. In addition to attending on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital, Dr. Gale conducts research in the areas of Candida albicans morphogenesis and pathogenesis and has two US patents from her research work. She has published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA and in Science and Molecular Biology of the Cell, among others. Dr. Gale held the Minnesota Chapter Research Award from the March of Dimes from 2000 to 2002.
