About the MINCEP Program

It's Worth a Trip to MINCEP®

A National Level 4 Epilepsy Center, A Model Epilepsy Program.

MINCEP was the first comprehensive epilepsy center in the United States and has served as a model for epilepsy centers throughout the world. Our treatment team includes, epileptologists, psychologists, a physician assistant, nurse practitioners, nurse clinicians, pharmacists, neurologists and neurosurgeons.

MINCEP is a change organization. We improve what we do and how we do it every month of the year. MINCEP was a founding member of the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) and our strict standards as a center of excellence even exceed the NAEC requirements.

The NAEC rating is a useful tool for evaluating the appropriateness and quality of specialized epilepsy care. (Source: National Association of Epilepsy Centers website)

A Level 4 Epilepsy Center should provide the following services:

  • More complex forms of intensive neurodiagnostic monitoring, such as video EEG
  • Extensive medical, neuropsychological, and psychosocial treatment
  • A complete evaluation for epilepsy surgery, including intracranial electrodes
  • A broad range of surgical procedures for epilepsy
