Screening and Diagnosis
People who suffer from a disorder of the central nervous system such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Menigomyelocele, Stroke or a spinal cord injury are at higher risk for developing a neurogenic bladder.
Diagnosing a neurogenic bladder includes testing both the nervous system as well as the bladder itself. Tests on the nervous system may include x-rays of the skull and spine or an electroencephalogram. Additionally tests on the bladder may include filling the bladder to check for how much it can hold and how long it takes to drain ( urodynamincs)
