Screening and Diagnosis

Pain or burning when you urinate is the most common indication that you have a urinary tract infection. Your doctor will usually be able to tell for sure though a physical exam and description of your symptoms.

A urine analysis is the common form of testing needed to identify what type of infection you have. This results will help your doctor determine the best treatment.
